Notes
scud was slow, but worked okay. stomach pump revealed mostly midges and a few baetis. Midge/baetis combo beneath ballon indicator kicked butt. Had a hawg on...dead weight, bottom hugger (brown?), then shot to current. Snap. Swear. Midges came off thick near dark...fish moved into very shallow calm water and fed. Had a few on griffiths nat but did not land.
Fished the same run all day long. If fishing slowed, I would take a rest for 30min and give the fish a chance to move back in. Every hole in the bighorn is loaded.

That sounds like one helluva river. I have really taken a liking to fishing midge patterns. Were you able to sight-fish to any fish?
