On my way home I swung by the river bridge. There was a big pony-tailed guy fly-fishing in the current.
I tried to engage him: 'Have they stocked it?'
'I have no idea . . .'
He seemed pissed that I had turned up and I could feel his disapproval boring into me like a migraine. He was very big and had a faint air of danger about him. He flicked his bright yellow line about in a way that seemed to me half-assed and angry at the same time before stalking off downriver. I snapped him for posterity and closed out a long day's fishing . . .
