Notes
I started the day off by streamer fishing the big hole at Indian Rock for about 1/2 an hour. I then drove down to the long run Zak and I fished during the heavy BWO hatch. Nothing was hatching so I started nymphing at the bottom of the run with a slightly different setup: A copper john as the main fly, a 6x 2' dropper to a #20 black disco midge, then 18" up from teh copper john, on a 5" tag, was a cased caddis pattern. I caught 10 whitefish while nymphing the edge of the run and had several more on. No trout.
Around 12:30 I drove the short distance back up to Indian Rock and spied fish from the cliff while eating lunch. There were a couple nice fish rising so I switched rods and setups to hi viz griffiths gnat with a red disco midge dropper. I caught the nice 18" rainbow on the dropper, then had a couple other rainbows that were 17"+ on the dropper before one shook the hook and the other snagged the gnat on moss. I also had a couple other medium trout on briefly. I had no hits on the gnat.
