Notes

I started on the South end of the lake in my float tube and worked the shore pretty hard with no bites and absolutely no signs of life. I was using a olive cone headed bugger and I was beginning to think that there weren't any fish in the lake. The lake is only about 9 ft deep and crystal clear. There were absolutely no signs of life, completely still. I almost gave up and went home, and then I saw a mom and daughter fishing under a bobber with worms catch a fish. I was starting to feel depressed...out fished by a mom and daughter. The wind started to picking up from West to East and the fish started to rise on the eastern end of the lake. There was a midge hatch that was coming off the water and they were so small that I could barely see them. I tied on the smallest fly that I had, which was a #20 BWO and the catching began. There were literally hundreds of fish rising, and it lasted for about 30 minutes. I probably could have caught more, but I had to get home.
