Notes
I tried fishing the SF below Danksin bridge to try someplace new. The water is quite low now compared to when I saw it in the spring with the full reservoir and runoff. I tried fishing a hopper dry and a copper john dropper, and got a few rises to the hopper but not nearly as many as I would have expected. I saw lots of hoppers while hiking down to the river from the road.
Before I left I tried switching from the dry to a california leech and a pheasant tail dropper and nymphing along the edge of the runs. I did have one nicer fish on briefly. I caught a couple decent trout - 12" to 13" - but it was still pretty slow.
Fun to see new water but not great fishing.
