Notes

I got the cloudy day that I was looking for and it didn't disappoint hatch-wise. It could have been a bit crappier and I think that would have helped things, but there still ended up being a good PMD hatch in the early afternoon. Baetis came off starting late morning / noon. Karl and I fished the big hole by the village.

During the main part of the hatch there were definitely some big fish up. I hooked a couple 20"+ fish but didn't land them. I easily got a couple dozen rises but only landed 6 fish. With that hole and the big back eddies, it's hard to maintain good line control to be in a good position to set the hook.

Surprisingly, not many fish were rising up in the riffles.

In the evening we went down to Indian Point and found a few very lazy fish feeding on the surface. I walked around quite a bit and didn't catch anything while Karl fished to a few risers without luck.

At dusk we drove up and fished a little above Anderson bridge. There were some midges coming off. Karl landed a small one, and I had another small one on briefly.
