Notes
We started on the Nantahala this morning and left around 10 AM after catching a couple more Nanty studs!
We fished Fires creek starting around 10:30. The fishing was not near as good as it has been in the past. It seems most of the large trout were caught and kept during the off season. This is unfortunate as there was a great number of 17+ inch fish providing a really good opportunity to catch a trophy. This stream still has the most beautiful water of all the streams I've fished.
We managed to catch two in the 15 to 17" range; one rainbow and one brook. We did catch quite a few stockers as well so it wasn't all bad just not near as good as the Nantahala.
