Notes

First time fishing Blue Springs, a Blue Ribbon trout area. We initially parked off Highway N about a mile and 1/2 of highway on road that led to private camping area at the end. It dead ends on what we later learned was apparently the Meramec River. The dead end area features a boat ramp.

We really didn't see any trout to speak of. Andy caught a very small rainbow in the afternoon on Blue Springs. Saw nothing while fishing on the Meramec.

In the afternoon after lunch we parked next to Blue Springs on Highway N just north of the cutoff where we were in the morning. I think we were too "splashy" while wading and most likely spooked the fish. When I worked my way upstream there was a bend in the stream that was nearly 90 degrees and in retrospect I should have tried. It had a nice ripple area at the bend that dumped into a pool. Should have held some fish.
