Notes
After spending most of the morning and afternoon recuperating from the frozen float the night/morning before, Karl and I finally got ready to fish in the early evening. We tried hiking up along the Russian, starting perhaps 1/2 mile upstream of its mouth, but never found any decent spots or fish. Karl as able to spot a sockeye across the river and he fished to it for quite awhile while I fished a little riffle where I had spotted a small trout.
We later headed back downstream after seeing a black bear on the path ahead of us perhaps 100 yards. The evening ended with beers at Gwin's.
