STARTED FISHING UPPER POND AT 1:45. The wind was blowing right in my face the entire time I was on that pond. I started with a rattletrap and noticed a dink chasing it a couple of times. I caught him and didn't get anymore on that. I slowed down to plastics but only had LIGHT strikes. I wanted to choose a lure that would cause a rukus but was slow enough for a lethargic bass to catch it. So I went to the black lazer eye spinner with a single large colorado blade. I chose this cause the pond was damn near muddy so I needed a black lure that would get their attention. My first cast out I caught the smallest dink. Within a few other casts I had another on but lost him at the bank. All these fish were within a few feet ( 2-4 ) from the bank. I hit other spots on the pond but nothing productive. I think they were there for the baitfish on the wind blown bank. That end of the pond has a ton of rocks at the end at the drain under the cart path. I bet that will be a good place to hit up the spawning bass this spring.
