Notes

When Calvin and I arrived at the pond, almost every access spot was taken except for the south cove. Unfortunately, that's a relatively shallow cove that required some longer casts to get past the weed beds. So we started with me making casts for Calvin, then he tended to the line. The setup we used most of the day was a single fly (zebra midge or Frenchie) suspended 18-24" below a pinch-on float. Due to the distance between us and the float, it required pretty good line maintenance to be able to set the hook when the float dipped. Cal didn't end up hooking any fish, but did help me land several of the fish. And he got some good exploring and drawing in while I fished. :) It was a fun trip. Lots of people there.
